Wheel Alignment for SUVs and 4x4s
SUVs are among the most popular vehicle types in Turkey. Their ride height, weight and wide tyres make alignment and balancing more important.
Why does alignment drift faster on SUVs?
- Weight: A heavy body puts more load on front-end parts, so bushings and ball joints wear faster.
- Kerb and pothole impacts: Mounting kerbs and driving on rough roads knock the alignment out.
- Off-road use: On 4x4s, dirt tracks and off-road driving cause values to drift.
Four-wheel alignment on 4x4 / AWD vehicles
On four-wheel-drive vehicles, aligning only the front axle is not enough. The rear axle values must also be measured so that all four wheels track on the same line. Otherwise the tyres wear unevenly and the drivetrain is put under strain.
Balancing wide tyres
On SUVs with 18-21 inch wheels, even a small imbalance is felt as vibration in the steering wheel. Wheels should be balanced at every tyre change.
In our workshop we perform 3D wheel alignment on everything from small cars to large SUVs.
