Tyre and Headlight Check Before Vehicle Inspection

Defects related to tyres, headlights and the front end are common at vehicle inspection. Checking the list below beforehand helps you avoid lost time and extra costs.

Tyres

• Tread depth must be above the legal minimum of 1.6 mm (3 mm is recommended for safety).
• Tyres on the same axle must be the same size and type.
• There must be no cuts, bulges or cracks on the sidewall.

Headlights

• Headlight height and direction must be correctly adjusted.
• There must be no cracked lenses or moisture inside the headlight.

Front end

Play in tie rod ends, ball joints and control arm bushings is detected at inspection.
